Souvenir Store Attendant (Part-Time with Opportunity for Full-Time)

At Chobolobo – The Genuine Curaçao Liqueur Distillery, we're looking for an enthusiastic Retail Store Attendant to join our team. This position starts as part-time, with the possibility of becoming full-time for the right candidate.
What You'll Do
- Welcome every guest with warmth and enthusiasm.
- Create a memorable shopping experience from arrival to departure.
- Share the story of our genuine Curaçao liqueur and educate guests about our products.
- Engage with visitors by answering questions about our products, the distillery, and the island of Curaçao.
- Recommend products based on guests' interests and confidently upsell where appropriate.
- Operate the cash register accurately and efficiently.
- Process payments and balance the cash register at the end of shifts.
- Keep the store clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Ensure merchandise displays are attractive and inviting.
- Work closely with the hospitality team to deliver exceptional customer service.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in retail is required.
- Experience in a souvenir store or tourism-related retail is a strong advantage.
- Excellent cashier and cash-handling skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and tourism.
- A positive, energetic, and friendly personality.
- Confidence in approaching and engaging with guests from different cultures.
- Strong sales skills with the ability to recommend and promote products naturally.
- A team player who is reliable, responsible, and professional.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
- Good command of English is required. Additional languages such as Dutch, Spanish, Papiamentu, or German are considered a strong advantage.
Bonus Skills
- Knowledge of Curaçao's history, culture, and attractions.
- Previous experience in tourism, hospitality, or guest services.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Basic inventory or stock management experience.
